AMERICHEM POLYMER ALLOY MATERIALS

As a globally recognized polymer compounding company, Americhem offers custom polymer alloys modified to meet the exact requirements of our customers’ applications. This advanced class of polymer mixtures expands design and manufacturing options with enhancements ranging from easier processability and improved dimensional stability to color matching and desired conductivity levels. Learn how we create specialized blends of polymers in small batch and large production quantities to support diverse markets.

WHAT ARE POLYMER ALLOYS?

Polymer alloys, also known as plastic alloys, are materials made by blending at least two polymers together with carefully balanced color additives, product additives, fillers and impact modifiers to achieve distinct physical properties. These high-performing polymer blends may be comprised of plastics, thermosets and elastomers, provided they are physically and chemically compatible with each other and any added substances. Polymer alloys represent a newer category of tailor-made plastics that require significant material engineering knowledge, expertise and technology to achieve outcomes not attainable through the sole use of a base polymer.

The Americhem Advantage in Alloys

The critical steps used to develop custom polymer alloys involve an interdisciplinary approach that includes material investigation, modification, testing and analysis. Americhem’s depth of experience in alloying polymers for injection molding and extrusion manufacturing makes us a trusted leader in this specialty compounding discipline. Our proven combinations of polymers, high-quality additives and reinforcements, and advanced blending techniques deliver superior benefits and performance characteristics that provide lasting value and differentiation for customers within their respective industries.
